Dual Loop Phase Cooled Lian Li

Dual Loop Phase Cooled Lian Li

Postby retrogamer1990 » Wed Sep 02, 2009 10:46 am

Hey Aquatuning,
I started this project a few months back and thought I'd share it with you guys too :)

Basically it started out as wanting to put a phase unit inside a lian li v2100, but then I saw the PC 343 has even more space so I could add watercooling loops for the GPU's and the motherboard blocks so I changed to this case, and its been going from there. I received my phase unit from Little Devil in slovenia a couple of weeks ago, and currently It is around 80% complete, Just got to wait for the hardware to come back from Duniek in poland ( He is making custom waterblocks ) and I need some GPU waterblocks and I will try fit a 15mm PA120.3 in the front Drive bays if I have some spare cash one day.

so here are the current hardware and cooling specs on the first page along with a video of the latest progress....

Youtube Vid: Taken on a cameraphone, so yes, its poor quality, yes I know i sound like a muppet, and Yes, I know, I am a crappy presenter. I didnt plan what to say at all, so its a little muddled. its just a quick progress vid anyway. I'll do a proper on when Its complete ;)

This Project would not be possible without:

http://www.benchtec.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=108 Little Devil< Click for link to contact him
His phase unit is, frankly, amazing. He sprayed the compressor white for me, the condensor black, and custom made it to my measurements, its just fantastic!

Duniek is making the custom waterblocks for my motherboard, so I can hopefully reach some stupid clockspeeds ;) hes a great guy and funny at times and he does EXCELLENT work :laugher:

And heres the compressor and condenser mounted:

Also I've ditched the i7 920 and found a 950 which is a proven 5.2ghz chip, so hopefully we shall see some utterly epic benchmark scores :D

----------------------------------------------------

heres the case:

This whole project was built around a V2x00 but this PC343 came up and it has been professionally modded by marcus at WCUK (it was his rig!) and it was at the right price, and it is exactly what I wanted looks wise, so I jumped at the chance.

heres the case:

and heres how it looks with my hardware & fans installed

I just noticed the i7 sticker is upside down hehehe
------------------

small update The phase cooler has arrived in the UK and is awaiting delivery today

I dont have my camera ATM, but I'll show you the photos LittleDevil Sent me of the unit

Thats one big box :D

------------------------

Phase cooler is in! (sorry for poor quality pics, only got crappy cameraphone atm)
Image

Hard drive bays were removed and cut so that it could rest on the PSU at the same height, then I installed a dual bay radiator underneath (it fits perfectly, and the gap for the tubing to get to the motherboard is *just right* ) I also spraypainted this black.

The PSU with all the wires and the radiator make it a tight fit!
Image

but It just goes in. It really all is fitting together so well, I couldnt have asked for a better fit between all the components if i had them custom made!
I have murdermod sleeved the cables aswell ;) slick.

Image

The suction line from the unit is also the *perfect* length to reach the CPU aswell :D I cant stress how perfect everything is fitting!

OMG! where has the motherboard gone!? oh, thats right, I sent it to duniek to get custom blocks done...

Image

also as a teaser of what is to come, Tribal Overkill Dual res anyone? ;)

and finally, a nice frosy evap :P

thanks for tuning in :D

still waiting on my waterblocks coming back from duniek, but in the meantime, sorting out where my pumps are gonna go, and changed radiator plans. instead of putting one in the roof (which would make filling & maintanence a NIGHTMARE, aswell as only being able to have a slim dual rad, I have decided to put a 15mm PA120.3 or 120.2 (still deciding) in the front drive bays to cool the 4870x2's even more
